My RANT on the Air Jordan Fusion 4!!!

Now these Air Jordan Fusion IV's are coming out soon obviously based off of the OG 1989 Air Jordan IV and the more recently released 2006 Retro Air Jordan IV. With that being said the original retail price for these sneakers were $110-$115, and now that may not seem like much, but trying to get a pair of these kicks in 2009 will run you around $775 for the OG pair and $225 for a retro pair. Yes thats right, $775 for a pair of OG Jordans. So with all these Jordan Brand fusions coming out this one kinda struck me close, because I actually HUNTED for my Air Jordan IV's, and I DID NOT pay retail. So these fusions are coming out and the shoes I hunted for are somewhat gonna be on the feet of every little kid who wants a pair of Jordans for school and every nigga in the hood that wants a Jumpman logo on their sneakers. And what makes me mad is most people wont even see the difference! They are just another pair of Jordans from the local mall. Im not a fusion basher or anything, if you wanna rock a pair a Jordan Force Fusions be my guest. Just please, PLEASE, dont think you have the hottest shoes out when wearing them!!! I wear Jordans (only retros and OG's), and yes I do wear Air Force 1's, but mixing the two just kills me! I know that Jordan Brand is just putting out kicks they know customers want and their MAIN GOAL is to make a profit, and they are no doubt doing that! It just kills me that they are saturating the sneaker culture and butchering these shoes! Any real sneakerhead will know the difference, but to many folks they are just another pair of Jordans...

Air Jordan News!

This Air Jordan 12 will retro sometime this year with the official colors being Black/University Blue. The official month has not been announced but you can cop a pair for $269.99 on marqueesole.com.
This picture is a Photoshop, but it has been rumors have surfaced that Jordan Brand will release an all white version of the Air Jordan 12. They will be released in December 2009 with the retail set for $150.
This Air Jordan is a sample from the Air Jordan Sixty Plus pack, which was supposed to release with the colorways matching the teams that MJ scored 60+ points against. This colorway is obviously based on the Orlando Magic, who MJ scored 64 points against back on March 4th, 1993. More info to come...

My Favorite Shoe! (+Air Jordan VIII History)

So I decided to make a post dedicated to my favorite Air Jordan sneaker, the VIII(8), and add a lil history to go along with it. If you like them as much as I do, leave me a comment! =]

The Air Jordan VIII was a shoe that released in 1993 and, to this day, looks like a shoe that was released in 1993. The loud patterns, the “carpet logo,” the almost overly technical looking straps – the Air Jordan VIII perfectly captured the essence of the era. Aside from its bold design, the VIII may be most fondly remembered for being on the feet of MJ as he completed the Bulls’ first of two three-peats of NBA titles.

The design of the VIII was a striking contrast to the VII, both designed by Tinker Hatfield. Gone was the minimalist approach of the Huarache concept employed by the VII, and in was the more-is-more approach as used by the VIII. The higher cut aimed to provide the ankle support that was largely absent in the VII, and the criss-crossing straps provided a new level of lockdown in an Air Jordan. One remaining carry-over feature from the VII was the inner bootie, which provided a supreme level of comfort. Encapsulated Air units in the heel and forefoot provided the cushioning, which, like the VII, was no longer visible.

Initial colorway offerings included the White/Black/True Red and Black/Black/True Red. These colorways were worn throughout the season, but the All-Star Game inspired something a little flashier. The Black/Bright Concord/Aqua Tone colorway was worn by MJ as he came close to meeting his season scoring average of 32.6 by knocking down 30 points in the game. It was a fitting shoe to go along with his stellar performance. The Air Jordan VIII has maintained somewhat of a love/hate relationship with fans. While some write it off for its excesses, others champion it for those exact same reasons. And while maybe not the most beloved shoe in the line, as evidenced by the response to its recent retroing, it still maintains a solid fanbase.
The “Aquas” were worn by MJ in the 1993 NBA All-Star Game. This was also the only colorway of the original Air Jordan VIII to not done in the traditional Chicago Bulls color scheme. It took fifteen long years for these to get retroed and when that happened, people were eager to grab them up.

Jordan Heads Documentary

I was doing some more browsing on the internet and ran into this website for an upcoming documentary about Air Jordans and the people who love them. I was watching the trailer and this looks like a dope movie. It says it will have a theatrical release early 2009. Unfortunately it will most likely only be released in select theatres in major cities in the US but we will see. If it comes out in Seattle I will defintely make the commute to catch it.

To check out the trailer go to the website @ jordanheadsmovie.com

I also found some upcoming scenes from the movie on YouTube.

You just stepped on my brand new Air Jordans, and all you can say is EXCUSE ME?!

So I went out today with a few homies and picked up one of my favorite pair of kicks, the Mars Blackmon Retro Air Jordan IV's in the white/varisty red/black colorway!
I got them for a dope ass price from Winners Circle in Seattle! If you ever in Seattle you got to check them out! They are some cool dudes down there! Check out the link under the Seattle Sneaker Boutiques section of my sidebar. To go with the Mars, I picked up a red zip up hoodie and I picked up a brown jacket to go with some Dunks that I have. So all in all I had a pretty good day in Seattle today. Hit me with a comment and tell me what you think!

Here goes some clipse starring the Air Jordan IV!
